Happy Valley school is also in Cushing. Would be a great addition to the Water Works building. The school was also a WPA building. I have not seen any photos of the inside of it so I don’t think anyone has braved trying to get in and there are cameras. There is a house next to it that someone lives in. Probably could start there to find out who you would need to get permission from
Thank you so much for posting this. I think this really puts things into a different light. I mean, I have read about this stuff before but the way you write just makes it clearer. If that makes sense

I love these old pictures – but cannot remember where the Cushing Water Works was . .
The Cushing water works was actually just east of Ripley. A couple miles down from the Ripley school.
this building has been torn down since these photos were taken
Do you know if the pool like structure is still there in the ground?
While Photographing in July 2011. Heard sounds of the old machinery trying to pump for about 5 min. This happened while in the room containing the ever deteriating wooden chair.
loving the really vibrant interior photos!!
