Osage Jail

City/Town:
Location Class:
Built: Unknown | Abandoned: Unknown
Status: Abandoned
Photojournalist: Cathy Brock

The small quiet town of Osage, located in Osage County Oklahoma. Much of the town is filled with people who prefer the quiet life. A few of the towns historic buildings remain even if those that once frequented the establishments have moved away to nearby towns of Hominy or Cleveland.

The jail found here is right across from an old bank once-turned tavern. It has become overgrown with foliage and is at risk of becoming completely forgotten. It seems that at one point it was a spot that fostered thinking about the towns history with an old bell that sits out front, perhaps from a nearby school or town hall.
