Founded before statehood in 1892, Terral is a small quaint town just above the Texas border. Named after John Heidelburg Dace Terral who moved to the area from Montague County, Texas. At the time, Terral was located in Pickens County, Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory.
Based on other examples of calabooses, I assume this jail was built prior to 1915. These jails weren’t usually used any later then the 1960s. Since the population of the town hasn’t been very big for over half a century this jail was probably discontinued far before that.
